Manipur showcases 'Thangjing' products at Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav, Delhi

Imphal, August 13 2026: The Manipur Government's Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department is participating in the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from August 12 to 15, 2026.Under the theme "Local Strength, National Pride, Global Impact", the department has set up a stall to showcase different varieties of Thangjing (fox nut) and value-added products produced in the State.

The stall is managed by the Manipur Makhana Development Agency.

Director K Debadutta Sharma said the expo, featuring around 600 stalls from across India, has drawn good public response and serious buyers for Manipur's Thangjing products.

He added that Thangjing has strong potential to boost the State's economy and improve farmers' livelihoods.

Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare's Makhana Development Scheme, the participation aims to promote Manipur's Thangjing and explore new marketing opportunities.
