One dies, 4 hurt in road mishap near Wangpi village

Imphal, June 13 2025: At least one person got killed while four others suffered injuries after a car fell into a gorge close to Lokchao Bridge near Wangpi village along the NH-102 under Moreh police station on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Roshni Begum (28) w/o Umar, and the injured as Umar (42), his son Md Azmir (11) and daughter Rina (27), and Md Sayan (4) s/o Biyaz Khan.

All are from Lilong Tolenkhun.

According to a report, Umar along with the other four passengers travelling to Moreh from Lilong in a Maruti car A-star (MN01S 8443) when the vehicle met with the accident around 10 am.

As the car fell down the 150 m deep gorge, Roshni Begum succumbed to injuries on the spot.

The remaining four occupants were rescued and taken to Jivan hospital, Kakching district for treatment.
