Forest Dept invites applications for Sangai Students Merit Award 2026

Imphal, May 13 2026:
The Wildlife Wing of the Forest Department, Government of Manipur has invited applications from eligible students for the prestigious "Sangai Students Merit Award 2026" in recognition of the efforts of the people residing around Keibul Lamjao National Park in the conservation and protection of the endangered Sangai deer.
According to a notice issued by the Office of the Deputy Conservator of Forests/Park and Sanctuary, the award will be conferred upon meritorious students who secured a minimum of 85 percent marks in the Class X and XII examinations, 2026, conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM, CBSE or ICSE .
The award is meant for students residing in villages surrounding the Keibul Lamjao National Park under Imphal West and Bishnupur districts.
Under Imphal West district, the villages covered include Phoubakchao, Komlakhong, Konuma and Laphupat Tera.
In Bishnupur district, the eligible villages include Khordak, Nongmaikhong, Ithai Wapokpi, Thanga Salam, Thanga Oinam, Thanga Khunsem, Thanga Moirangthem, Thanga Khoirom, Sagram, Keibul, Chingmei, Chandapur, Thanga Lawai, Keirenphabi and Kumbi village wards No.1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 .
Eligible students have been asked to submit one selfattested photocopy each of their mark-sheet, Aadhaar Card and mobile number on or before 4 pm of May 20, 2026 .
The documents may be submitted at the Office of the Range Forest Officer, Keibul Lamjao National Park, Range No I, Keibul, or at the Office of the Range Forest Officer, Keibul Lamjao National Park, Range No II, Chingthi.
