JMDC welcomes improvement work on Kangpokpi-Tamei IT Road

The Joint Monitoring and Development Committee (JMDC) has expressed appreciation to the concerned MLA, government authorities and the concerned department for initiating the long-awaited improvement work of the IT Road connecting Kangpokpi and Tamei.
In a press release, the committee stated that the commencement of the road improvement work marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and promoting socio-economic development for the people living along the IT Road.
According to the committee, the road has remained neglected and underdeveloped for many years causing severe hardships to the residents of the region.
The committee noted that the start of the present work programme has brought renewed hope and encouragement to the people who have endured these challenges for decades.
The development of the road is expected to significantly improve mobility, strengthen connectivity among communities and contribute to the overall growth and welfare of the region.
The JMDC further stated that it will strictly monitor the quality and progress of the work in accordance with the approved work order and technical specifications to ensure transparency, accountability and proper implementation of the project.
Maintaining the required standards is essential so that the road serves the people effectively for many years, the committee added.
Speaking on the matter, JMDC general secretary Ngamraibou Chawang said the committee will extend full cooperation to the contractors engaged in the project and is ready to assist them in addressing any issues or challenges that may arise due to the execution of the work.
The committee also appealed to the public to extend their support and cooperation in monitoring the implementation of the development work so that the project is carried out transparently and successfully for the benefit of the entire region.
The JMDC reaffirmed its commitment to work collectively with all stakeholders to ensure that the improvement of the IT Road is completed effectively and becomes a lasting asset for the people and future generations.
