Body at morgue

Imphal, August 12 2025:
Porompat Police have released the description of a male body being kept at JNIMS Mortuary for identification.
The man, about 55 years of age, is 5.6 feet tall, thin built and has wheatish complexion.
The man has an elongated face, long black beard and long black hair.
He was found wearing one half sleeves collar T-shirt (grey in colour with blue checks) and one Khudei with green and white checks, said the police.
The man was found lying dead near the waiting shed at Telipati near Kali Mandir, Imphal East district at around 5.20 pm of August 5.While a case of unnatural death has been registered with the police, the body has been decaying at the JNIMS mortuary and may create health hazards.
If no claim is received by 1 pm of August 16, the body will be disposed of with the permission from competent authority and following due process of law, said the police.
