District-level ASHA Convention held in Thoubal

A one-day District-Level ASHA Convention 2025 was held today at CMO Office, Thoubal Wangmataba, to honour the vital contributions of ASHA workers in strengthening community health and building a healthy society.
The event was organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal.
It was attended by District Health Society, Thoubal Chairman and Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kahmei; CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul; District Welfare Officer, Thoubal, Dr Kh Trusty; District AIDS Control Officer Thoubal, Dr Y Bijendra; District Nodal Officer, NP-NCD Thoubal, Dr M Bikramjit; and District Malaria Officer, Thoubal, Dr L Lalitkumar as presidium members.
As part of the convention, 13 ASHA workers from the district were conferred the Best ASHA Worker Award in recognition of their dedication and tireless service to the people.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest Hannah Kahmei lauded the significant role played by ASHA workers in the health sector, noting that the system would have fallen into crisis without their relentless efforts.
She also acknowledged the important role of ASHA workers in ensuring the success of community healthcare initiatives.
She expressed her hope that ASHA workers would continue to serve with grace, humility, and commitment, further contributing to improvements in the health sector.
