Imphal, August 11 2026:
The All Manipur Muslim United Clubs' Organisation along with other Meitei Pangal organisations has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, urging immediate fulfillment of their long-pending demands.
In a press note issued on Tuesday, AMMUCO said if the demands are not addressed within a short timeframe, all Meitei Pangal organisations, college and higher secondary student unions, clubs and religious bodies will hold a joint meeting and serve an ultimatum to the CM before launching agitations.
AMMUCO stated that the Meitei Pangal community has been waiting for 15 years with patience for the Government to act, but no concrete solution has come.
The organisation also demanded immediate action on Waqf Board issues.
While welcoming the appointment of ex-MLA Y Antas Khan as the new Waqf Board Chairman, AMMUCO urged that pending matters be cleared without delay.
It further appealed to newly appointed non-Muslim members to resign in respect of Meitei Pangal sentiments, and warned that imposing the "Delhi formula" in Manipur will not work.
AMMUCO called on the CM and BJP leaders to intervene and resolve the issues promptly.
