Imphal, June 11 2026:
Indian renewable energy firm Sun Shakti & Natural Private Limited has appointed M/S Future Development Organisation (FDO), Imphal as its authorised dealer to accelerate the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijili Yojana in Manipur.
At a ceremony held at FDO's Naoremthong office, CEO Mohammad Abdullah Chatwal handed the authorisation certificate to L Dhanaraj, Managing Director of FDO and Marketing Project Director, Sun Shakti NorthEast.
Chatwal said the flagship scheme aims to install solar rooftops in one crore households across India, with each beneficiary receiving 300 units of free electricity monthly and a 60% one-time subsidy on installation.
He noted the initiative will reduce electricity bills, create employment, and cut carbon footprint, aiding environmental conservation.
Under a Power Purchasing Agreement, households can also sell surplus power to the government.
The company provides solar inverters, hybrid systems, solar water pumps, off-grid and high-grid solutions, and power partnership projects.
FDO will soon begin surveys in Imphal to set up electrical charging stations, further promoting clean energy adoption.
