Mushroom Spawn Production unit inaugurated at KVK Thoubal

Thoubal, July 09 2025: A Mushroom Spawn Production Unit was officially inaugurated at the office complex of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Thoubal today.

This production unit has been established under a project sanctioned by the NABARD to support Self Help Groups (SHGs) through Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) as outlet points for quality spawn supply.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Director of the Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, K Devadutta Sharma; Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Thoubal, Dr Jeshmarani Sarangthem, NABARD Imphal General Manager, Partha Mandal; Manipur Rural Bank chairman, Abhay Kumar; Rice Research Station Wangbal, breeder L Shantikiran Devi and District Agriculture Office DAO Thoubal, Th Joyprakash as presidium members.

After the inauguration of the "Mushroom Spawn Production Unit", the dignitaries took stock of the products showcased by the Farmer Company Organisations (FPOs) under KVK Thoubal by visiting the stalls.

A newsletter was also launched during the programme, and sprayers were distributed to the FPCs .
