Imphal, April 09 2025: The 48-hour shutdown imposed along Yairipok Azad Golai to Nongpok Keithelmanbi road has been suspended following assurances from MLA Th Shyamkumar to start repair work on the road stretch by April 20.The announcement was made by Premkumar Loukrakpam, co-convenor, Yairipok to Nongpok Keithelmanbi Road Development Organisation.

The prohibition on the movement of heavy vehicles has also been lifted from 5 pm to 6 am everyday.

According to the co-convenor, the MLA agreed to begin the road demarcation process by April 15, along with providing the necessary machinery for the process, and start black topping of the road section by April 20.He cautioned that if the MLA fails to act on the assurances then more intense forms of protests will be launched from the following day.
