Imphal, July 08 2026:
As part of efforts to integrate Artificial Intelligence in Court proceedings, the High Court of Manipur in collaboration with the Judicial Academy, Manipur organised an awareness programme for advocates and advocate clerks on 'E-Court' at the High Court auditorium here today.
High Court Judge Justice A Guneshwar Sharma and CPC of the E-Committee, Nirojit attended the event as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice A Guneshwar Sharma said that with Courts now computerized and cause lists uploaded online, it has become essential for Judges, Court staff and advocates to be computer literate and adapt to changing times.
He said the programme was aimed at informing young advocates about the benefits and limitations of using AI in Court drafting.
Citing the Supreme Court's observation that citing a non-existent case amounts to misleading the Court, Justice Sharma stressed the need for advocates to update their knowledge on responsible use of technology.
