Call for peace continue to pour in, candle light vigil held

Expressing grave concern over the ongoing conflict in the State, several organisations and groups have appealed to the people of Manipur to end the cycle of violence and proceed for a peaceful resolution.
Rashtriya Janhit Sangharsh Party (RJSP), Manipur Unit has appealed to the two communities of the State particularly the Meitei/Meetei and Kukis to bring back peace and harmony in Manipur.
"Many unwanted violent incidents took place, first, it erupted from Churachandpur and Moreh of Kuki dominated areas as a result of poor administration and security lapses in the areas.
Later on, it was retaliated by the Meitei/Meetei community in the valley areas of Manipur", said a release issued by RJSP Manipur Unit.
Stating that many innocent people are still suffering due, the Unit urged both the communities to forget & forgo past mistakes as it happened due to anger against State Government's policy and programmes.
The Unit also appealed to the public to refrain from further violence, cool down and think in depth for the future of next generations.
RJSP Manipur Unit also urged the Central/ State Government to take up immediate actions to evacuate all the stranded victims to safer places.
Conveying deepest sympathies for those afflicted by recent civic disturbances, Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal has expressed its solidarity with the people of Manipur in these hard times.
"We pray to almighty God that peace & harmony may prevail amongst us all", said a release issued by Ramakrishna Mission.
Appreciating the efforts of local clubs & others in setting up shelter camps to comfort the aggrieved, Ramakrishna Mission also shared its desire to extend their services by promptly providing essential food ration, Hygiene kits, etc to the inmates of various relief camps.

Expressing concern over the prevailing violence in the State, Zeliangrong United Clubs' Association Manipur Valley (ZUCAMU) has also appealed to all the communities of Manipur to set aside their differences and show proper restraint & control.
In a release, ZUCAMU urged all the communities to stand together and work out a solution to restore peace & normalcy in the State.
ZUCAMU further appealed to the State Government to initiate necessary measures to help the people who have been affected by the recent violence.
Meanwhile, Manipuri in Kolkata (MIK) yesterday organised a candlelight vigil in front of Manipur Bhavan building in Salt Lake, Kolkata for peace and harmony in Manipur.
Speaking to media persons, Rojit Keisham, finance secretary MIK, stated the vigil was conducted to pray for peace & normalcy in Manipur.
Extending solidarity to the people affected by the recent violence, Rojit also appealed to the Central and State Governments to take immediate actions to restore law & order in the State.
