Imphal, March 08 2026: The Assam Rifles also organised a series of programmes across Kakching, Thoubal Chandel and Tengnoupal districts to mark the occasion, reaffirming its commitment to women's empowerment and community engagement Activities included interactive sessions such as "A Day with Riflewomen" at Joupi village in Khengjoi Sub Division, where women in uniform inspired local girls to pursue careers in the armed forces.

At Kendriya Vidyalaya Chakpikarong, A Day with Company Commander encouraged students to nurture talent and aspire towards leadership roles.

Awareness sessions on wellness and women's health were conducted at Kakching, complemented by a CPR demonstration and a talk on preventive healthcare by the Chief Medical Officer.

Medical camps were organised at New Samtal and Kovang, while Yoga sessions at Sehlon and Kakching promoted holistic wellness, while recreational activities such at Sehlon fostered camaraderie and teamwork.

The events also featured a singing competition by village girls, weapon and equipment displays, a dog show and volleyball matches, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and unity.

Women achievers were felicitated at Aibol Joupi, while girl athletes from Serou were honoured for their participation in the Khelo India Kickboxing Tournament At Longa Koireng, the programme focused on encouraging greater participation of women in social and community development.

A session was conducted emphasising education, self-reliance and equal opportunities as pathways to empowerment.

At Pallel Garrison, a Women's Day Conclave 2026 was held under the theme "Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship - Ignite, Innovate, Lead".

Alongside the conclave, awareness programmes on women empowerment and entrepreneurship were conducted at Modi and Moreh.

In Tengnoupal and Chandel districts, solar tights were distributed to women residents of Yangoubung and Sontong villages, benefitting households and enhancing safety and education in remote border areas.

Together, these initiatives reflected the commitment of Assam Rifles towards fostering community engagement, recognising the role of women in society and promoting socioeconomic progress across Manipur.
