State of art hi-tech heart treatment now available in CMC Hospital, Koirengei

Treating heart patients using latest hi-tech treatment method has been launched in the state at the Catholic Medical Centre (CMC) Hospital, Koirengei today as a joint of venture of the hospital with Medical Super-speciality Hospital, Kolkata, a hospital under the Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences.
A team of heart specialists led by Dr Sanjeev Garg will start attending heart patients on every Saturday and Sunday at the CMC Hospital, Koirengei with the launching of the joint venture.
CMC director Rev Francis Kalapurachal, Dr Sanjeev Garg and Deputy GOC, RS Garwal of 57 Mountain Division were among other dignitaries who attended the function marking the initiation of the new facility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sanjeev Garg elaborately talked on the various causes of heart failure.
He said that as the heart is an important organ of the body there are many factors which cause heart diseases and heart failures.
Among heart patients, 62% of them are related with Ischemia, 16% with smoking, 10% with hypertension, 8% with obesity, 3% with diabetes while 2% are caused by valvular problems, he said.
Dr Sanjeev assured that the same facilities available in the Medica Super-speciality Hospital will be provided at the CMC Hospital, Koirengei.
Director, Rev Francis, who also spoke on the occasion, appealed to the people to take the advantage of the newly launched treatment method.
The joint venture is being taken up by this private hospital not as a business and not to earn a profit but with the objective of making available the best heart treatment at the lowest cost.
The hospital will charge Rs.200 as admission fee, Rs.950 each for taking echocardiogram and treatment mill test (TMT) and Rs.8000 for an angiogram.
The hospital will charge Rs.2000 for implanting a temporary pacemaker and Rs.8000 for a permanent implantation which is much less compared to charges taken by other hospitals, he added.
