JNV Umathel holds annual Alumni Meet

The Annual Alumni Meet of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kakching Umathel, was held today at the school's MP Hall with enthusiastic participation from former students, teachers and officials.
The event, held every year on the first Sunday of December, was graced by Principal Atom Kirankumar; JNVSA Alumni Association president Y Shyamo and senior teacher Heikrujam Surjitkumar Khuman, who served as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Atom Kirankumar Khuman reflected on the school's growth since its establishment in 1987 .
He noted that the strong foundation laid by the late principal SK Singh has enabled the Vidyalaya to flourish.
He also highlighted the significant role played by the first batch of students in forming the Alumni Association, which has now become one of the largest Alumni Association in the State - a milestone he described as a proud moment for the institution.
The Principal further stated that due to the consistent support and active participation of the Alumni Association, the Vidyalaya has emerged as one of the top institutions in the entire Northeast.
He credited this success to the outstanding achievements of students across various fields.
Addressing the gathering, Alumni Association president Y Shyamo expressed confidence that students passing out after Class XII would continue to strengthen the association in the coming years.
He reiterated that though students leave the institution, the Alumni Association remains a family that supports and uplifts its members.
As part of the programme, meritorious students of the institute who have secured outstanding marks in the Class X (AISSE) and Class XII (AISSCE) examinations were felicitated by the Alumni Association.
The event was also attended by Kakching ADC P Shantikumar; YAS Director M Veto; Department of Minorities Affair Jt Director Md Salauddin; along with various members of the Alumni Association.
