NAB Manipur organises campaign against drug

The Narcotics And Affairs of Border (NAB) Manipur organised a year long campaign against drug at Korou Foundation Rehab Centre, Meitei Langol, near Thongak Lairembi, Imphal West today.
It was attended by Y Kishorchand Singh, Additional SP, NAB-PS; S Ibomcha Singh, OC, NAB-PS; L Omeshor Singh, 2nd OC, NAB-PS; Herojit Sagolshem, president, U-Trust and Bosen Chingakham, secretary, Korou Foundation as presidium members.
The programme began with a welcome address by Sonamani, counsellor, KF-SATRC.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Kishorchand said that the campaign was organised with the aim to promote 'Drug Free India' by adopting a zero tolerance policy against narcotics.
Highlighting the 5 main works covered by the United Nation, Herojit emphasized on the two parts namely Protect Human Rights & Support Sustainable Development and Climate Action in which all ex-drugs users can participate, help by being a productive member of the society.
S Ibomcha elaborated on Supply Reduction & Demand Reduction, drug use impacts to self, family and society at large.
He also gave a presentation showing testimony of drug users who fought addiction to become productive members of the society.
L Omeshore spoke about the need for teamwork in the fight against drug abuse and the importance of coordination between Police, CBOs, NGOs and the public.
Bosen Chingakham appreciated the NAB team for choosing Korou Foundation as the venue for the year long campaign against drugs.
Altogether, 37 persons including inmates, ex-inmates and staff of Korou Foundation participated in the programme.
