Cancer awareness / free health check-up programme conducted

Imphal, June 07 2024: A one-day cancer awareness cum free health check-up programme was organised at the premises of Brahma Kumaris, Manipur in Pheidinga, Imphal West on Friday.

The programme which was jointly organised by Brahma Kumaris, Manipur and Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care Institute and Research Centre was attended by around 140 participants of all ages, gender and occupation, said a release issued by Brahma Kumaris, Manipur.

The programme started with an Inaugural cum Awareness session wherein Dr (Prof) GS Moirangthem, Director CEO and Sr Consultant Surgeon, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care Institute & Research Centre; Dr K Rajo Singh, HOD, Anesthesiology, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care Institute & Research Centre; W Imo Singh, Lead-Screening and Early Detection, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care Institute & Research Centre; Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Nilima, in-charge, Brahma Kumaris, Manipur and Brahma Kumar Sarat from Mount Abu, Rajasthan graced as resource persons.

During the awareness session, medical experts led by Dr (Prof) GS Moirangthem spoke in detail about the causes, early detection and prevention of cancer of any forms and the types of cancer which are prevalent in respective genders.

The medical experts also requested the participants to come forward and take their personal initiatives in detecting the disease at a very early stage, for which the treatment and subsequent cure can be done with positive results.

Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Nilima expressed her gratitude to Karidnos Manipur for their eager willingness to conduct the camp at the premises of Brahma Kumaris, Manipur.

She also stressed on the importance of giving equal amounts of care to the body for physical health and to the soul for spiritual health as spiritual health will ensure to keep one happy, healthy and wealthy.

Brahma Kumar Sarat spoke about the importance of meditation in facing the challenges arising out of any health issues and can play a very remedial role in healing during any illness.

He also said meditation helps a person in taking appropriate decisions which will have a positive impact on one's life.

Later, a free health check-up was conducted for all the participants.
