Maj Gen Basu visits Sainik School Imphal, inaugurates classrooms

Imphal, April 04 2026:
Major General Shubankar Basu, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Red Shield Division and Chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA), visited Sainik School Imphal today to review developmental initiatives and inaugurate new infrastructure.
The visit commenced with a formal wreath-laying ceremony, followed by a Guard of Honour presented by the school's cadets.
The 84th LBA meeting was subsequently conducted, chaired by Gen Basu and attended by Principal Col A Rajiv, focusing on enhancing the institution's infrastructure and training environment.
Gen Basu expressed pride that Sainik School Imphal cadets are representing Manipur at the National level and requested State Government support for the school.
During the visit; Devleena Basu, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Red Shield Division, toured the Sainik Foundation School, planted a tree, and distributed appreciation certificates to the staff.
A significant highlight of the visit was the inauguration of newly constructed classrooms by Maj Gen Basu and Devleena Basu.
The visit concluded with an Investiture Ceremony, where cadets were formally given their ranks and responsibilities for the academic session 2026-27.Addressing the gathering, Maj Gen Basu commended the school's pursuit of excellence in academics, discipline, and characterbuilding, encouraging cadets to uphold values of integrity, perseverance, and patriotism.
Col A Rajiv expressed gratitude for the inspiring visit and acknowledged the support of the LBA and stakeholders.
