Manipur State Shumang Leela Council declares names of awardees

Imphal, January 03 2023: The valedictory function of the 19th Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei will be held tomorrow afternoon.

During the valedictory function, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council will be presenting awards to various individuals acknowledging their contributions for the upliftment of Shumang Leela artform.

Speaking during a post show talk programme, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council Life Time Secretary Sougrakpam Hemanta declared the names of the individuals who will be conferred with the Shumang Leela awards.

He informed that the awards have been dedicated by the family of the departed renowned Shumang Leela artistes and well-wishers who worked earnestly for the promotion of Shumang Leela artform.

He declared that Hiyang Lukhoi will be honoured with Pidonu Award; Wareppa Naba, Padmashree awardee with Ima Shanti Ningshing Award; L Bidyananda with Gulamchat Ideal Award; Sagolshem Sana Meitei with Popular Award; K Devan Sharma with Moirang Ningthou Award; Jeetenkumar Naorem with Gojen Award; Lai Ibotombi with Bori Award; O Prafullochandra with Modhumangol Sharma Award; Ph Gunachandra Sharma with Nongthombam Birendrakumar Award; L Gokul Singh with B Jugolchandra Sharma Award and Hawaibam Budhi with Babu Yaimabi Award.

While informing that Sangai Artist Association Shumang Leela Kanglup's play titled 'Nakenthagi Minok' will be performed tomorrow Hemanta appealed to all Shumang Leela lovers to support tomorrow's programme.

The valedictory function will be graced by Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba; CAP& PD Minister L Sushindro Meitei; G Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director Art and Culture Department and L Tompishak Singh, Chairman Manipur State Cooperative Union as the presidium members.
