Chavang Kut festival unites Assam Rifles and local community at Moreh

In a vibrant display of cultural unity and festive spirit, Assam Rifles celebrated the Chavang Kut Festival alongside the local community at the HTC Office in Moreh, Tengnoupal District.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the event, organised by Kuki Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), brought together diverse sections of society in a warm and spirited gathering that honoured tradition, togetherness and the blessings of a bountiful harvest.
The day commenced with a solemn morning prayer led by members of the Kuki community, expressing gratitude for agricultural abundance and invoking blessings for peace and harmony across the region.
This heartfelt beginning set the tone for a day filled with joy .cultural pride and communal bonding.
A lively cultural programme followed, featuring traditional songs and dances that showcased the rich heritage of the Kuki people.
The performances, marked by graceful movements and rhythmic melodies, captivated the audience and reflected the community's deep-rooted customs and celebratory ethos.
Officials from Assam Rifles joined representatives of various CSOs, security forces and the state administration in the festivities, reinforcing the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
The celebration culminated in a community feast where stories, laughter and goodwill were shared among all attendees.
Troops from Assam Rifles to include officials, families and children participated in the event adding to the festive atmosphere and strengthening the bond between the force and the local populace.
