MU's DACE celebrates 5th Foundation Day, felicitates achievers

Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE), Manipur University under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment observed its 5th Foundation Day cum Felicitation Programme at University Auditorium yesterday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof RK Hemakumar Singh attended as chief guest.
Lt Gen (retired) Konsam Himalay Singh, former Chairman MPSC, retired IAS officer RK Nimai Singh, Prof N Basanta Singh, Dean School of Engineering, Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Dean School of Life Sciences, and Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner.
Imphal West attended as guests of honour.
DACE Programme Coordinator Dr Salam Shantikumar Singh presided.
Prof Hemakumar stressed disciplined preparation, punctuality and guidance from experts for competitive exams and called for strengthening DACE .
Rajkumar Singh urged students to treat successes and setbacks as growth opportunities and said technology should strengthen service delivery, not replace human judgement.
Lt Gen Himalay Singh said clearing exam is the beginning of a longer journey and described DACE as a diamond-polishing centre for Manipur's talent.
RK Nimai Singh underlined discipline, time management and responsibility to society.
Prof N Basanta Singh suggested exploring GATE coaching through DACE and urged successful candidates to uphold honesty.
Prof Mohilal Meitei spoke on perseverance and mental preparedness.
Dr Shantikumar said 27 DACE students have secured Government jobs and 16 qualified NET/JRF.
The Centre has got a three-year extension after assessment and will expand coaching including for PWD candidates.
He said DACE has only two classrooms with capacity of 80 and sought more space and facilities.
Alumna N Malemnganbi Chanu of Manipur Secretariat Service shared her journey.
The programme featured felicitation of successful candidates, recognition of faculty members, a group song and other cultural items.
A booklet titled "Success Story of DACE, MU" was also released.
