Imphal, October 02 2010: The International Day for Elders was celebrated at the precincts of CRPF Group Centre, Langjing, Imphal today.

A colourful programme was organised at the auditorium to felicitate the elders of the force personnel residing in the camp.

Prominent local senior citizens of Imphal were also present and honoured on the ocasion.

The function was graced by the presence of MS Raghava, DIG CRPF, Imphal, who exhorted thegathering to give adequate care to the elders in the family.

He highlighted that not only on this occasion but we should celebrate everyday as elder's day.

RS Jassal, columnist was also invited, honoured.

PS Rajora DIG of the Croup Centre, speaking on the occasion expressed that this was an auspicious occasion to recall and celebrate the experience, knowledge and wisdom of our elders who have given it to us.

He saidthe ultimate remedy lies in the Mantra "Respect the old when you are young, Help the weak when you are strong, Confess the fault when you are wrong, because�One day in life you will be Old, Weak and Wrong.

A musical performance was also organsied by the artists of Home for Blind, an NGO working for the cause of blind persons at Takyel, Imphal.

The function concluded with the presenting of gifts and refreshments to all the elderly persons presents on the occasion.
