NIT Manipur holds Smart India Hackathon internal round

Imphal, September 01 2026:
The National Institute of Technology Manipur (NIT Manipur) organised the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 Internal Hackathon at its Langol Campus on August 28 .
As many as 35 student teams participated with enthusiasm in the hackathon which provided a platform to develop technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
Teams presented their ideas and prototypes before jury panels comprising experts and faculty members.
Projects were evaluated on innovation, feasibility, implementation potential, impact, scalability and presentation quality.
The programme was held under the guidance of Director Prof D V L N Somayajulu as Chief Patron, with Prof Khumukcham Tomba Singh and Prof Khumanthem Manglem Singh as Patrons.
Dr Ngangbam Romeji was Convenor while Dr Thiyam Susma Devi served as SPOC & Coordinator.
The event concluded with declaration of results, prize distribution and closing ceremony.
The institute said the hackathon strengthened the culture of innovation, collaboration and technology-driven problem solving, and it remains committed to nurturing innovation among students.
