DC Kakching orders removal of illegal structures by Aug 8

Kakching, August 01 2025: The Deputy Commissioner of Kakching District, Rohit Anand, has issued a firm directive for the removal of all illegal structures, items and debris along the National Highways/State Highways/Inter-District Roads/Inter-Village Roads and other roads including footpaths located in the Kakching district by 3 pm of August 8, 2025.The order follows increasing incidents of unauthorized occupancy by construction of structures such as house extensions/shops/sheds or structures either permanently or temporarily along town and public places of Kakching district, causing significant inconvenience to the public and obstructing the traffic posing safety hazards and public nuisances to the commuters.

Encroachers and concerned individuals have been given a deadline of August 8, 2025, to voluntarily remove all such structures, items, and debris.

The DC warned that failure to comply will result in strict penal action, and shall bear the costs incurred for removal of structures/debris by the encroachers The Deputy Commissioner has urged for public cooperation to ensure safety, order, and accessibility in public spaces across Kakching district.
