Imphal, February 01 2026: The Ningthemcha School of Music brought the fourth edition of "Yenning Kumhei" to life at Shri Shri Balmukunda Dev Government Music College, Palace Compound, Imphal, on Sunday, showcasing a vibrant mix of traditional and contemporary sounds.

The festival featured a diverse lineup, with senior artistes and young guns sharing the stage.

Manipuri folk and traditional music stole the show with performances by Thokchom Lansana Chanu, Chingkheingaba Akoijam and students of Laihui.

The Hindustani classical segment was equally impressive, featuring Laimayum Devendrajit Sharma, Geeta Rajkumari, and James Rajkumar.

The Ningthemcha School of Music students also wined and dined the audience with their soulful renditions.

Dr Rajkumar Satyaditya, Managing Director of Ningthemcha School of Music, said the festival aims to provide a platform for emerging artists in Hindustani classical, Manipuri folk and traditional music.

"Yenning Kumhei provides a unique opportunity for young talent to rub shoulders with artistes who've made it big nationally and internationally", he added, highlighting the event's role in nurturing local talent.
