Imphal, November 30 2024:
Expressing concern over the remarks of Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena and Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma calling for imposing President's Rule in Manipur, the Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) and Indigenous Development Mission (IDM) said that Mizoram government should stop meddling in the fight against illegal immigrant and poppy cultivation.
In a release, FOCS said that the statements of Mizoram government are considered as a conspiracy to form a Chin-Kuki-Zo nation state by curving out parts from India, Myanmar and Bangladesh disrupting the integrity of Manipur and India.
Government of India should take legal action for making statements against the NDA government ongoing campaign of 'Akhanda Bharat', it prodded.
Every rational people know that the conflict persisting for more than one and half months in the state is because of illegal immigrants and poppy cultivation, it said, while adding that Mizoram Rajya Sabha and CM should not meddle into other business of the state wherein the state is fighting for safeguarding its territory and protecting from drug menace.
FOCS further questioned the hypocrisy of Mizoram government when they itself restricted giving Aadhar, driver license and inclusion of foreigner in voter list while opposing Manipur's effort to save the indigenous people, its territory and save people from drug business.
Indigenous Development Mission (IDM) in a release also condemned the statement of Mizoram government opposition party MNF demanding resignation of Manipur CM when people of the state are already unhappy about Mizoram MP's remark.
Their statements have proved that they also took part in fuelling the conflict, it denounced.
IDM also urged both state and central governments to find Laishram Kamalbabu who went missing from 57th Mountain Division army camp at Leimakhong and denounced the re-imposition of AFSPA in areas of six police stations.
