Free eye screening camp conducted at Kakching

Kakching, June 30 2026: A one-day free eye screening camp was organised today at Krishnachandra Mandop, Kakching Keithel, jointly by Kakching Kalai and Shija Eye CareFoundation.

During the camp, a team of eye care professionals from Shija Eye Care Foundation provided screening and consultation services to around 300 individuals for various eye-related ailments, including cataract, diabetic eye complications, glaucoma (high eye pressure), conjunctivitis, pterygium and other eye disorders.

The organisers informed that patients requiring cataract surgery would be provided the opportunity to undergo treatment at Shija Hospitals under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB) under NHM.

The patients will also be provided transportation facilities along with free two-day hospital stay as part of the initiative, the organisers added.
