Awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Campaign conducted

Deputy Commissioner Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana has advocated for a "Healthy, Drug-Free Imphal East" at the village and household-level with the support of locals.
The DC made the statement during an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign with local body panchayat representatives of Imphal East organised by the District Administration, Imphal East and District Social Welfare Office, Imphal East held at the Panchayat Hall of Imphal East DC Office Complex today.
Addressing the gathering, Kh Diana urged the locals to uproot the menace of drug abuse by spreading.
awareness about the subject at the grassroot level to the youths in each household and help bring about a drug free society.
Meanwhile, Ngangom Uttam, Director, Social Welfare, asserted that when it comes to the problem of drug abuse, preventive measures are of great importance to ensure that the youths are not tempted to try narcotic substances.
He also delved into the topic of rehabilitation of drug addicts and the support needed from family members to achieve this.
The programme was also attended by K Meghachandra Singh, Superintendent of Police, Imphal East (MPS); RK Nimai, retd IAS, executive member, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee, Imphal East and Dr P December Singh, chairperson, Zilla Parishad Imphal East as presidium members.
