Chandel launches 2nd round of National Deworming Day

Chandel, September 29 2026: The second round of the National Deworming Day (NDD) 2026 for Chandel district was launched today at Khungpham Primary School, Mantri Pantha, Chandel, Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel and Chairman of the District Health Society, Chandel attended as the chief guest of the launching programme.

The programme was organised by the District Health Society, Chandel, in coordination with the Department of Health, Education and ICDS, with the objective of promoting child health and ensuring effective implementation of the deworming initiative across the district.

Dr Serbum Shakchung Moyon, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Chandel; Hrangbung Starson Anal, ZEO, Chandel; and Leima Devi, CDPO, ICDS Cell, Chandel also attended the programme besides officials, teachers and students.

As part of the programme, a deworming activity was conducted, led by the Deputy Commissioner, marking the formal district-level launch of the second round of NDD 2026.The initiative aims to contribute towards improving the health and well-being of children through timely deworming and increased awareness among students, parents and the community.

The District Administration, Chandel, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening coordinated public health interventions and ensuring effective implementation of child health programmes across the district.
