UCO to seek financial aid from farmers to unclog canal

Kakching, October 26 2024:
A meeting organised by the United Clubs Organisation (UCO), Kakching has resolved to seek funds from farmers to unclog Loushi Khongjao located at Chingkakpham adjacent to Thoubal and Kakching district.
The meeting was held yesterday at Konggoi community hall in Konggoi Keithel at Kakching Wairi.
The meeting also passed other important resolutions, including the formation of a committee to address the frequent clogging/blocking of Loushi Khongjao caused by landslides and the subsequent flooding of fish farms and agricultural land and for this committee to take over the duty of collecting Rs 500 from farmers by October 27 and facilitate the declogging of the canal as soon as possible.
Lastly, the meeting resolved to seek Government assistance to ensure that such blocking of the canal don't happen at Chingkakpham again.
The meeting was graced by Moirangthem Brojen, president, UCO and two farmers of Loushi Loukol, namely, N Natum and M Nanda as the presidium members.
