Bishnupur, July 26 2024:
The Loktak Development Authority Workers' and Employees' Union Manipur has suspended their cease work strike which was launched on July 24 .
The Union is set to resume the cease work strike cum sit-in protest from July 29 .
Notably, they are demanding equal benefits for themselves as afforded to employees in other Government departments, including retirement benefits, separate rules and regulations etc.
Speaking in this connection, P Shyamkumar, general secretary, LDA Workers' and Employees' Union Manipur said that the workers had carried out a democratic form of protest for three days commencing from July 24 .
However, as the State Government has failed to respond or address their grievances, the cease work stir will continue from July 29 again, he said.
Today's cease work stir cum demonstration was staged in front of Ningthoukhong LDA Office gate.
The workers wielded placards with messages such as "Implement Equal Work for Equal Benefit", "Promote the non technical employees based on seniority", "Framing of Separate RR for LDA Employees" and "Facilities of Retirement Benefit Equal to other Department" .
