PIB holds media workshop on VB-G RAM G in Bishnupur

The Press Information Bureau organised a media workshop (Vartalap) on "Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (V B-G RAM G)" at Hotel Elegance, Moirang, in Bishnupur district today.
The workshop aimed to disseminate information on the provisions and benefits of the VB-GRAMG initiative to the public through media engagement.
The inaugural session was attended by Regional Director, PIB Imphal, Dr Engam Pame; Executive Engineer, State Level Monitoring Cell, RD & PB Department, Devjoy Yumnam; Executive Engineer and State Resource Person (Tech), VB-GRAMG, Th Hemchand; and Assistant Director, CBC Field Office, Chandel, Moirangthem Rustum Singh as presidium members.
The session began with a cultural presentation by artists of CBC, Imphal.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Engam Pame lauded the active participation of local journalists, describing them as key drivers of change.
He stated that the workshop aimed to build an interface among government stakeholders and media persons regarding the new VB-GRAMG Act, which he termed a significant step towards achieving the vision of "Viksit Bharat @ 2047".He highlighted that the initiative focuses on ensuring employment and income security, particularly for people at the grassroots level, while also promoting sustainable rural infrastructure.
Earlier, M&CD PIB Imphal Pushpa Maibam welcomed the participants and delivered the keynote address.
She emphasised the importance of strengthening information flow between the government and media, and highlighted the need to address challenges posed by misinformation in the digital age.
During the technical session, resource persons elaborated on the key features, prospects and challenges of the new scheme.
