Imphal, November 25 2025: The 16th Foundation Day of Koijam Kamini Devi Memorial Library & THAU Information Centre (KKDML & THAU-IC) was celebrated today at THAU Sport Complex, Thangmeiband.

The celebration was graced by Radhabinod Koijam, former Chief Minister and patron-in-chief of KKDML & THAU-IC; and Kh Monon Singh, chairman, KKDML & THAU-IC as the chief guest & president respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Radhabinod Koijam lamented that the KKDML & THAU-IC which was established 16 years ago has not been fully utilised by the public.

Highlighting the importance of libraries, he asserted that libraries offer a wide range of materials, from books and journals to digital databases, that go beyond the school curriculum.

"Libraries help individuals develop critical thinking and digital literacy skills, offer resources for personal and professional growth, and preserve history and culture for future generations", said Radhabinof Koijam while urging all to visit the library.

Prof Ch Ibohal Singh, HOD, Library Science, Manipur University also gave a talk on the topic, "Role of Library in the process of making a harmonious society" .
