Minister Loken calls for inclusive society for development

Imphal, September 25 2026: Every community in society should love and embrace differently-abled persons and only then will the State progress, said Tourism and Arts & Culture Minister Kh Loken Singh.

He was speaking as chief guest at the 12th Disable Welfare and Development Programme organised by Disable Welfare Development Association at Manipur Press Club today.

The Minister said differently-abled persons have pure hearts without jealousy and this is worth learning.

If we give up the thought of 'mine' and greed, everyone can live together.

If we cling to 'mine', we cannot unite, he said.

He said because various communities work with their own ideologies, the feeling of living together is missing.

Human birth is rare and life is short.

Therefore, we should live with love, he said, adding that narrow-minded persons can never become great.

The State is resourcescarce and backward, and so we should stop blame game.

Government, CSOs and organisations should join hands to develop the State, he added.

Disable Welfare Development Association president Khamnam Aruna, Takyel ZP Pradhan Khaidem Priyobala, Manipur Public School Principal RK Imocha and Asian Hospital Research Institute media coordinator N Bobo Meetei also attended.

Help kits were distributed to differently-abled persons and IDPs as part of the programme.
