Indian Army honours Kargil heroes

Senapati, July 25 2024:
Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas and to honor the gallant heroes and their families who were part of Operation Vijay, the Indian Army organized an interaction and felicitation event for Ex-Servicemen and their family members in Senapati district today.
The event honoured one Veer Mata, four Veer Naari and 54 War Veterans of Operation Vijay, majorly from the 1 NAGA and 2 NAGA Regiments of Indian Army, who participated in the Kargil victory firsthand.
The event was chaired by GOC, Red Shield Division.
He welcomed and thanked the veterans for their contribution and sacrifices.
Three gallantry awardees of Operation Vijay namely Sepoy (Late) Kapani Ashulimao, Vir Chakra (Posthumous) of 1 NAGA Regiment, whose mother N Takhra, was honoured for his supreme sacrifice alongwith Havaldar Sani Mao, Sena Medal of 1 NAGA and Havildar Adahrini, Sena Medal of 2 NAGA Regiment who were recognized for their bravery and gallant actions during the operation, who thereafter also shared their experiences with the gathering.
The event concluded with expressing gratitude to all the veterans for their remarkable contributions to the Kargil victory, marking the solemn occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
