International seminar concludes at GP Women's College

Imphal, September 24 2026: The three-day international seminar cum workshop on the theme "Interdisciplinary Pedagogy and Action Research: Language, Literature, Culture and Society" concluded at GP Women's College today.

The seminar cum workshop was jointly organised by the Department of English, GP Women's College, DM University and the English Alumni Association, Manipur University.

The valedictory function was attended by Principal, GP Women's College, Prof L Rajen as chief guest; Head, Department of English of the College Dr Sobhana Laishram as president; Head, Department of Language Education, Kathmandu University, Nepal Dr Tikaram Poudel; Dr John R Baker of Ho Chi Minh University of Industry and Textiles, Vietnam and Member, UGV NE, NEP 2020 Implementation Prof Irom Gambhir as guests of honour.

The seminar cum workshop was organised to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, educators and students to share contemporary developments in language pedagogy and action research.

About 200 participants from within and outside the State and the country presented papers in both online and offline mode.

Resource persons from different countries also participated online and offline.

Dr John R Baker and Prof Patricia Briscoe of Queen's University.

Canada attended as keynote speakers.

Dr Sobhana Laishram was the convenor of the workshop cum seminar while Assistant Professors of the Department Dr Neeruka Angom and Dr PA Steward were co-convenors.
