A MEET of the villages of Meetei, Tangkhul and Nepali today while stating that Saikhul MLA failed to look after the villages urged the MLA of neighbouring Khundrakpam AC to make them relief from the woes facing by them.
The MLA from Saikhul Kendra did not took up any developmental works on the reason that he did not get votes from the said villages, lamented the villagers attending the meet organized by the Yakairol Leisem Youths Club at Nongsum Keithel today.
Chief of the Gourayang village, Haokhoi Lumkheng graced as chief guest in the meet presided by YLYC president Arubam Raja presided and Pastor Samuel Jimik attended as guest of honour.
Speaking as chief guest, Haokhoi Lumkheng said that the long neglected road connecting Nogsum village with Taretkhun was repair under the initiative of the Khundrakpam Kendra, Th Lokeshwor and since then the villagers got relief.
But the road from Nongsum to Khamenlok which lies within the jurisdiction of Saikhul Kendra has not been repair since long.
Request to the concern MLA also went in vain, he said.
He also said that they had requested the MLA Lokeshwor for improving the road condition under his initiative considering the woe of the villagers.
Raja who presided the meet said that villagers of Nongsum and its surrounding are facing various grievances since long.
Villagers of Nongsum village had major role in operating bus service upto the village.
MLA Lokehwor's effort had led to the black topping of the road upto Nongsum village but road from Nongsum reaching to other villages are in woeful condition, he said while appealing the MLA of Khundrakpam A/C to look after and make to relief the people from the woes owing to the bad condition of the road.
The meet was attended by the villagers and leaders of the Nongsum, Lamboikhun, Khongbal, H Khupibung, Khamenlok, Chaloiphai, Angayang, Thumbol, Jodaphai, Laiphurak and Gorayang.
