SFs-Meira Paibis face off, reporter threatened

In the midst of a tense face off between Meira Paibis and Central security forces at Malom Tuliyaima today, a Reporter of ISCom who went to cover the incident was harassed and threatened with FIR by the Central security forces.
Supporting the 48 hours general strike called by COCOMI, Meira Paibis of Malom Tuliyaima were blocking Tiddim Road at Malom Tuliyaima when a team of Central security forces arrived there at around 10 am .
As the Meira Paibis blocked their way, the officer leading the Central security officers started threatening the Meira Paibis with offensive words.
The security personnel threatened the Meira Paibis with FIR and arrest.
This led to a tense face off between the Central security forces and the Meira Paibis.
One Reporter of ISCom who covered the incident with video recording was also threatened by the Central security forces.
They told the Reporter that he should not make any video recordings.
The security personnel threatened the Reporter that an FIR would be registered and he would be arrested if he took any video shoot.
According to the Meira Paibis, the security forces even threatened to physically assault the Reporter.
"Even as we intervened and identified the man as a Reporter, the Central security personnel still threatened to physically assault the journalist", the Meira Paibis said.
