CPI, ABVP condemn Pahalgam terror attack

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has strongly condemned the barbaric terrorist attack on tourists in the Baisaran valley, Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday.
In a release, ABVP Central Office said that this cowardly act of killing innocent tourists after asking their religion is a big blot on values of humanity.
Highlighting that 26 civilians were brutally killed and several were injured in the attack, the ABVP stated that the incident is a grave assault on social harmony and civilizational values that is intolerable in any form.
"ABVP pays heartfelt tributes to departed souls, prays for a speedy recovery to those injured and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families during this time of grief', it added.
Demanding the Central Government to identify and ensure harshest punishment for the terrorists, the ABVP said, "The entire network that promotes terrorism in the Kashmir Valley must be dismantled to make this sacred land free from terror.
A decisive action against terrorism has now become essential for the integrity of India and the safety of its citizens".
ABVP's national general secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki said, "The brutal attack in Jammu & Kashmir is deeply painful for every citizen.
The merciless killing of innocent tourists is a direct attack on humanity.
The time has come to give a fierce response to these agents of terror and their protectors".
"This cowardly attack not only challenged the values of our civilisation but also pose a grave threat to the tolerant and harmonious nature of Bharat", he added.
Moreover, the ABVP Jammu Kashmir has also strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, calling it a direct assault on peace and national integrity.
Sannak Shrivats, state secretary, ABVP Jammu Kashmir said, "Terror attack in Pahalgam is a heinous act of violence that has shaken the nation.
ABVP demands strict action against the perpetrators to ensure justice is served".
"We stand firmly with the families of the victims in this hour of grief and condemn the selective targeting of individuals based on their identity.
We urge the authorities to take immediate and effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future and ensure the safety and security of all citizens".
The ABVP Jammu Kashmir also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to stand together against this threat and support security forces in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the National Executive Meeting of the Communist Party of India (CPI) was held today at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
As per a release issued by CPI Manipur State Council, the meeting strongly condemned the barbaric killing of tourists in Pahalgam by terrorists and extended deepest condolences to the families of the innocent people who lost their lives in the attack.
The meeting also demanded the Central Government to leave no stone unturned in bringing the forces responsible for the dastardly attack to justice.
