10th anniversary of BBBP celebrated

Imphal, January 23 2025: Joining the rest of the country, District Administration Imphal East celebrated the 10th anniversary celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme at the Conference Hall of Imphal East DC Complex on Wednesday.

The celebration was organised by District Administration Imphal East in collaboration with the District ICDS Cell and DPO .

The event will continue till March 8, 2025, across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Imphal East Khumanthem Diana said that the celebration marks a decade of relentless efforts toward the protection, education, and empowerment of girls in India.

She shared that various activities will be held in collaboration with other concerned departments during the week-long celebration.

Khumanthem Diana also led the gathering in taking a pledge to end gender discrimination against the girl child.

District Level Officers and officers of Imphal East District Police were also present at the event.
