Wabagai MLA inspects flood affected farms, homes

Thoubal, August 22 2024: Wabagai Assembly Constituency MLA Dr Usham Deben inspected flood affected paddyfields, fish farms and homes of the AC today.

Speaking in this connection, Dr Usham Deben said that incessant rainfall in last few days led to breaching and overflow of the Sekmai River in many spots which caused flooding in the paddyfields and homes in Wabagai AC and led to overflooding in many fish farms.

He added that the State Government is consulting with District Administration Kakching to extend any possible help to the flood-affected people.

In order to prevent overflowing of rivers and floods after a spell of rainfall, he urged people settled along the riverbanks to refrain from posing impediments in Governmental works to reinforce or build embankments or retaining walls.

As the MLA of Wabagai AC, he assured to work for the welfare of the people.

The MLA was accompanied by Rohit Anand, DC Kakching; Ingocha, SDO Kakching and Salam Dhanabir, member, Administrative Committee, Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad during the inspection.
