UG cadres arrested

Imphal, June 22 2019: A combined team of Bishnupur commando and a column of 5 JK Rifles arrested one active cadre of PLA and two female over ground workers of KCP from different parts of Bishnupur district on June 19 .

According to a reliable source, a combined team of Bishnupur commando and a column of 5 JK rifles, acting on specific information regarding the presence of UG cadres in and around Irengbam Awang Leikai, launched a search operation.

During the operation, one individual was detained on suspicion and during preliminary interrogation, he identified himself as Chanabam Premjit alias Nanao (27) s/o Naba of Irengbam Awang Leikai.

He also revealed that he joined PLA in 2009 and trained at Burma.

As such, Premjit was arrested from the spot after observing necessary formalities and handed over to Nambol PS for taking up necessary actions under UA Act.

Later in the evening, a team of Bishnupur commando, along with Bishnupur women police conducted a search operation at Ningthoukhong bazaar number 12 and arrested two women over ground members of KCP/ National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) .

According to a source, acting on specific information, Bishnupur commando and Bishnupur Women Police launched a cordon and search operation at Ningthoukhong and detained two women on suspicion.

During preliminary interrogation, the women were identified as Kh Bembem (35) w/o Jadumani of Ningthoukhong ward number 12 and Angom Memngoubi (48) w/o Shanti of Ninthoukhong Awang Leikai.

The women revealed that they are working under the command of one Lemba of KCP as over ground workers of the outfit.

Hence both of them were arrested from the spot and handed over to Bishnupur PS .
