Kakching, December 21 2024: An awareness programme on Cancer disease cum screening camp was held today at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai under Kakching district.

The programme was organised jointly by American Oncology Institute, Khabeisoi, Babina Diagnostics, SWC Club, Hiyanglam, Punsi Lamjing Meira VLF and Tamjanaphm Self Help Group, Hiyanglam.

During the event, specialist Doctors of American Oncology Institute gave an awareness on common types of Cancer which occurs among women.

During the camp, more than 150 women from different localities of Hiyanglam were provided free screening and tests on Breast Cancer, Cervical Pap Smear, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and Pulmonary Function Test.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopen Tongbram, Sale and Marketing Manager of American Oncology Institute, Babina Speciality Hospital stated that cancer disease, if detected early and treated on time can significantly improve the chances of successfill treatment.

But unfortunately in Manipur, due to lack of knowledge on Cancer, the test rate is very low, said Gopen.

Therefore, to spread awareness on Cancer disease such an awareness camp is being held under the initiative of American Oncology Institute, Babina Speciality Hospital, Manipur, he added.
