New bridge, school inaugurated

Bishnupur, August 21 2024: Education and Law Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar handed over newly constructed Utlou Makha High School and Utlou Makha Bridge to the people of Nambol Assembly Constituency today.

Utlou Makha Bridge is built over Merakhong Maril and connects Utlou Makha and Utlou Awang.

The Nambol AC MLA first inaugurated the Utlou Makha High School which was constructed under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) .

Following this, he inaugurated the Utlou Makha Bridge sponsored by the Central Reserve Fund.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Padma Shri awardee and former Union Minister Thounaojam Chaoba; L Nandakumar, Education Director; N Chingkhei, ZEO Bishnupur; T Shyamkumar, BDO Nambol; Ch Bishwachandra, Additional Chief Engineer, PWD; Sh Herojit, Assistant Engineer PWD and other PWD officials.

On the occasion, Th Basanta Kumar said that plans are underway to upgrade the major District Roads (MDRs), Other District Roads (ODRs) and IVRs across the AC in the next 5/6 years.

In this regard, he made special mention of Phadibi Road, Nambol Sabal Leikai to Ishok via Sanjenbam Road, Kabowakching Road etc.
