Pens, towel stolen from SDC office, forensic sweeps crime scene

The office of the Sub-Deputy Collector, Thoubal was looted of 9 ballpoint pens and one towel today, and following the incident, a forensic team was sent to sweep through the crime scene to look for clues, a report has revealed.
The "summary report" of the break-in at the office said the incident was reported by one of the staff to the SDC at 7.34 am .
After the incident was reported to the Thoubal police, an FIR was registered and a "Forensic team and fingerprint expert team" examined the crime scene at 12.28 pm.
After the examination by the forensic team, the office staff assessed the building and found 9 ballpoint pens missing from the desk of the Bench Clerk.
Further, one towel from the SDC's office chamber was also found missing, said the summary report of the SDC Thoubal.
Further, there were visible signs of attempted theft everywhere including the breaking of door locks and cupboards, shifting of electronic items from their usual positions, and shifting of files from cupboards to floor without misplacing their contents, said the report.
To better safeguard the office, actions have been taken to repair the broken doors and cupboards and install CCTV cameras.
The staff also have been instructed to remain vigil and immediately report such incidents, said the SDC in his report, seeking the appointment of a chowkidar.
