ICAR Manipur Centre, KVK Imphal West host live telecast of 23rd PM-KISAN release

Imphal, June 20 2026: The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, in collaboration with ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Imphal West, organised a live telecast of the 23rd instalment release under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Saturday at the Conference Hall of Loktak Farmers' Hostel.

The programme was funded by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur.

BJP Manipur Pradesh, attended as chief guest.

Laishram Bobby Devi, Chairperson, Imphal West Zilla Parishad, and Yumnam Hemabati Devi, District Agriculture Officer, Imphal West, were guests of honour.

The event was presided over by Dr Soibam Basanta Singh, Head of Regional Centre, ICAR Manipur Centre, with Dr L Kanta Singh, Senior Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK Imphal West, also present.

Participants witnessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi releasing the instalment from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal.

In this phase, Rs 18,880 crore was disbursed to over 9.44 crore eligible farmers nationwide.

PM-KISAN provides Rs 6,000 annually to farmers in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 .

A total of 306 farmers, farm women, and stakeholders from across Manipur took part.

Agricultural inputs were distributed to promote scientific farming and improve livelihoods.

The programme underscored joint efforts by ICAR Manipur Centre, KVK Imphal West and the State Agriculture Department to ensure farmers' access to welfare schemes, advance sustainable agriculture, and strengthen technology dissemination.
