Imphal, December 18 2008: The All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) today has announced that as per its commitment, the association has decided to deposit Rs.10,000 under fix deposit scheme of the bank in name of one five year old orphan boy whose parent life claimed by the dreaded HIV/AIDS hailing from Keishamthong Irom Pukhri Mapal. The announcement was made in a function organized by the association with the theme, "Let us join hands to save our society from drugs, HIV/AIDS, with a new hope, love and trust" eatables and exercise books were distributed to 160 whose life hit by the impact of the HIV/AIDS.

AMADA volunteers distributed the items to 20 children lodging at Hands For Peaceful Society (HAPES), 30 each lodging at MNP-plus, Kripa Society, SASO and 20 at Indian AIDS Consortium (IAC). The amount, the association also announced that they decided to deposit in the boy's name was received as income from selling "Ningol Excel Blue", a detergent produced by a women group living with HIV/AIDS with the initiative of the AMADA.

The detergent was launched on this year Ningol Chakouba festival. The boy who is also infected by the HIV/AIDS had also lost his grant mother, the only survived member to look after and bring him up recently.

AMADA has decided to deposit the amount with a hope that it could help him in his future at least to some extend, a statement said. The function was held as part of various functions which have been organizing by the association in connection with its third foundation to be celebrated on December 20. Prior its foundation day celebration, a statement of the association today also highlighted some of its achievements during the last three year.
