Kakching, February 18 2026: A District-Level Science Quiz Contest 2026 on the theme "Fostering Public Trust in Science" was held today at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching.

The competition was organised by the Zonal Education Office, Kakching, under the Directorate of Education (S), for students of Class IX to XII studying in Government, Government-aided and recognised schools under the Zonal Education Office, Kakching.

In the competition, Mayengbam Aditya Singh of Class XI and Yengkhom Sebarson Singh of Class X from Kakching Higher Secondary School clinched the first position.

The second position was secured by Saintcyna Yengkhom and Khumbongmayum Bivarani, both from Class X of Mary Immaculate Catholic School, while Lanchenba Luwang and Lamjingba Salam, both Class X students of ADI English School, secured the third position.

The function was graced by Kh Binodini Devi (MES), DI of Schools, Zonal Education Office, Kakching as the chief guest and M Rakhesh Singh (MES), Zonal Education Officer, Kakching, presided over the programme.

The quiz contest was conducted by Ksh Joykumar Singh, Assistant Professor at KMC, who served as the Quizmaster.

Y Lokendro Singh, AI of School ZEO Kakching and Ksh Joykumar Singh, Assistant Professor, KMC also attended the programme as science experts.
