Teachers and students of NG Mani College, Khurai Chairenthong staged a sit-in protest today condemning the bomb threat at the residence of Assistant Professor Dr Sagolshem Poireiton at Wangkhei Konsam Leikai, Imphal East.
Unidentified miscreants reportedly planted a bomb at his residence around 6 pm on Friday evening.
Dr Poireiton is currently serving as Assistant Professor, Computer Science at the college.
Holding placards reading "We condemn targeting college name", "Stop threatening teachers", "We condemn bomb planted at teacher's house", protesters demanded action.
Speaking to the media, Dr Poireiton said it is unfortunate that teachers cannot hold staff meetings and general body meetings for the welfare of college.
"Threatening those working for betterment of college with bombs is condemnable", he said, adding such intimidation could affect the future of college.
He said after information, a police team removed the bomb the same day.
He appealed to raise any grievances openly at college instead of intimidation.
