Heiningsoi Eco-Tourism Park to be developed in Yumnam Huidrom: Minister Loken

Imphal, August 17 2026: Tourism Minister Khuraijam Loken has announced that Heiningsoi in Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, will be developed into an Eco-Tourism Park to provide people a new recreational space, similar to Moirang's Sendra.

The Minister made the announcement on Sunday during an inspection of the site being developed under the Tourism Department in Imphal West district.

During the visit, Minister Loken reviewed the work progress with officials and discussed challenges.

He instructed them to complete the project within the stipulated time and assured full support from his department to expedite it.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said the State needs more peaceful destinations where people can spend quality time with family.

He described Heiningsoi, located on Mayai Lambi, as a scenic spot close to nature and easily accessible from Imphal.

He noted that the idea of developing it into an Eco-Tourism Park was first envisioned by former Wangoi MLA and Minister Chungkham Rajmohon.

The Minister informed that the park is being developed with funding under SASCI and work is progressing at a fast pace.

"Efforts are on to complete it within the target timeline.

Once completed, the park will serve as an ideal family destination for relaxation.

The department has also submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Tourism seeking additional funding to further expand the project", said Kh Loken while expressing optimism that the proposal will receive early approval.

As part of the visit, Minister Loken also inspected the proposed site for the new building of Mayai Lambi Dramatic Union at Wangoi Thongkhong Luxmi Bazar.
